The ongoing situation with Covid 19 may cause shipments to the EU to be delayed. This is due to flight disruptions and added customs / quarantine checks.
VAT applies to EU shipments.
When shipping items to the EU from another EU country (or somewhere within the European Economic Area), no customs paperwork is required. When shippingitems to the EU from a country outside of the EU area, you may be required to complete a brief customs form. These will vary depending on where you are travelling to / from so please ensure you familiarise yourself with any paperwork requirements before you book a shipment.
Baggage Hub also requires a copy of your passport details page to be uploaded to your customer portal, regardless of whether the shipment is coming from within or outside of the EU.
PROHIBITED ITEMS - EU
At Baggage Hub, we supply a general list of Prohibited and Restricted items as standard, but there are specific rules and restrictions when sending items to the EU, which it’s important to be aware of.
Aerosol cans are strictly prohibited (even via road courier).
You must also not send any item that contains lithium batteries (laptops, mobile phones, wireless headphones, rechargeable battery packs), and no sharpened objects or knives (this includes kitchen knives).
Liquids / pastes / gels (toiletries etc) and non-perishable foods are permitted to be sent within Europe via road courier, but prohibited via airfreight / air courier. We would, however, strongly advise against sending any foods or liquids that are contained in glass jars or bottles as these may break in transit. Some countries may charge additional taxes on such items depending on the quantity.
Please make sure you review the prohibited items document here [ Restricted Items ]. You will be required to digitally sign this list within the customer portal to confirm you understand what not to pack.
